Brutal Death Metal-Blasting Sicknes. Death Worship Part II. Albums I own. Favorite Grind Albums. Disgustingly Heavy. A Lurker's There are also the grunt-ish pig squeals that frequent the songs, but for some reason, they're not annoying as I usually see in brutal death metal.

They just seem to have a bit more personality behind them, like the vocalist actually cared about what he sounded like. There is also the occasional scream, and they sound awesome.

Something inside me wants to vaguely liken it to black metal, but that doesn't exactly seem right. Suffice to say, they're high, and possibly the most energetic screams I've heard on a death metal album. The guitars are simplistic, as one would expect on a brutal death metal album. Every single song has a riff that's not memorable, so to speak, but it's very fun to listen to.

They can be fast and technical at times, like at the end of the song "Larva Masturbation", but for the most part, they stay in the safe territory of riding the first string or two like most brutal death metal bands do. That's not saying the guitars are bad, though: far from it. If you still have your doubts, let's say this: they fit in perfectly with the music.

Whether they themselves are perfect, I will let you decide. The drummer is your typical death metal machine, playing mostly on-and-off blasts and enticing slam beats. Like most brutal death metal bands, the kit's snare sounds a bit lackluster, but the cymbals sound absolutely awesome. Though I like all the songs, if I had to choose a favorite, it'd undoubtedly pick "Feminine Skin Suit".

The band brings everything they have into this song, never stopping for a moment. It picks up momentum like a snowball rolling down a mountain, and by the end it's nearly bombastic in its pace. Also, it might be just me, but the guitars seem better here than on the rest of the album. Overall, this is a good first full-length by a band that seems to be the cream of the crop in what they do. Part of the magic is that every second you're wondering "damn, this is fast and heavy" and guess what? The next second you're rescinding and improvising your beliefs.

Now this part is fast and heavy. No wait, it's that part. I would recommend this to anyone who even vaguely likes death metal, or a classic death metal fan who's attempting to branch into heavier territory. It was actually quite disappointing experience when I first gave 'Reek of Pubescent Despoilment' a full listen, it's an albums that seems to have become very popular in the brutal death metal scene, and also outside of it, this is one of those albums that even regular metal listeners that aren't into the more brutal stuff seem to like.

I've heard people say things like "Guttural Secrete have a great mix of brutality, technical talent, infectious songwriting and powerful production" and in essense, they're right.
