The parts of the vista user interface that are not translated by the LIP are displayed in the parent language. When you free download a Vista language Interface Pack LIP , you also get the parent language requirements for that language. Note that the parent language pack need to be installed before the LIP can be installed. Your email address will not be published. If any updates are found, Select View available updates. If mui file not found in current language, system tries to find it in fallback language. The best example to try with is taskmgr. Applications simply do not start after this task manager didn't start at all. After I did all this and rebooted, I had mostly English interface, but several things doesn't work.
Start menu doesn't open, desktop context menu also, folders context menu is shown partially and such. I will try to change in the registry parent language to en-US, and fallback to ru-RU today It is in the update section but everytime I try to install it, after a few minutes the process breaks in half and gives an error 2. Many thanks. Unfortunately the English language pack is still not working. You can always tell the posts that google throws up at the top of searches.. I did it by hands I took 2 days to figure it out and place all files, mostly. I didn't replace boot files though, boot loader is still in russian. I downloaded and tested several ones with success including as the default language for system and boot : Japanese, French, German, Arabic However the Spanish version has a problem and can't be installed, and the WnidowsUpdate log there's an error signaled, but the detail is not there and must be seeked in the EventViewer: Level: Error ; Source: Language Pack Installer ; Category: Language Pack installer CbsClient feature ; Event id: "Error CBS 0x signaled while using the user interface language pack for es-ES" the message here is translated back to English by me, it is actually shown in French only because this is my current MUI configuration in my local user account.
