Sreypov was forced to have sex with as many as 20 men in a day, seven days a week for years. She managed to flee at age 10 after two other failed attempts at escape and severe punishment that followed it. She now works to rescue women from sexual slavery and is a survivor who, still haunted by the horrors she experienced as a young girl, cannot imagine being with men ever again. It is a dark and twisted world out there and these shocking stories really make me wonder just how we humans have managed to become the most advanced and yet, most barbaric of races.

Forced prostitution and sex slavery is a global reality. And it is a reality none of us know enough about or are prepared for. Meena, India Meena was kidnapped from her village in northern India when she was 11 or 12 years old - she only remembers that is was well before she began to menstruate - by a trafficker and locked up in a girl brothel in the town of Katihar in Bihar.
She continued to resist, however, until she was forced to consume alcohol one day and raped after she passed out. When she woke up, Meena accepted her fate. Aisha Parveen, Pakistan Attacked and abducted at 14 years of age, Aisha Parveen of Pakistan endured six years of constant physical and sexual torture at the hands of her brothel owner. The girls at the brothel where she was kept, were forced to sleep naked so they'd be too embarrassed to attempt escape.
She was a scared child and ran away from home at 14, only to land in the arms of a pimp who made her believe he loved her, as he prostituted her. Her passport and phone were stolen when she was kidnapped, and they kept her prisoner and forced her to sleep with men. Before long, she was being transported to England using a fake passport and sent to a brothel masquerading as a massage parlour. Some use online sites to market themselves.
And it's like they can't get away from him because it's like there's gonna be problems if they try to make money somewhere else," she said. When news broke last month that a year-old Bakersfield girl was allegedly trafficked to Reno by a pimp, Nancy wasn't surprised. Pimps target young girls who are easily manipulated, she said.
Nancy said she tells young girls on the street to go home. But she also keeps her distance from them for fear of being caught by police in a minor's company. The prostitute said she can tell which girls are the young ones because they are "wild" and just thinking about "the fun and the money.
They just don't want to see like girls walking up and down the street in their underwear," she said. If she could, Nancy said, she would explain to those people that all prostitutes are not "nasty. I don't know when it is," she said. As Nancy talked about her life, she was alternatingly jovial and starkly serious.
Pastor Doug Bennett, Magdalene Hope's leader, interjected comments to lighten the conversation. His group has known Nancy for a while, and Bennett tried to persuade her to go out for a meal with him and his wife. So use that phone number and call us, please," he said. Later as he drove down the street, Bennett said he hopes the group is close to forging a stronger connection with Nancy.
What's it gonna take for the fat lady to sing for you to get out? Is it gonna be a bust? I only met three working girls out of thousands across the world. I imagine that motives vary but the main reason is easy money. Although the stories of how my girls came to the industry are vastly different, I feel that the industry has shaped them all similarly. Cynicism and mistrust are rife. They all admit that they have not been treated well by guys in the past, and this profession does not leave them with a trust for the hairier sex.
I got in my car to go home, and I was thankful to be heading to my bed and not staying for an all nighter with the girls. Well done. Why did you go to talk with them was it for this or something more?
And what happens when the world falls in on her? I wonder how many will fall in love, leave the profession and never look back, keeping their secret locked up? Wow, what a brave and wonderful post. Thank you for sharing these stories with us.
Definitely gives me perspective. Their motto is Jesus Loves Porn Stars. Myers, with a ministry of going into brothels…bringing gift baskets and love…Jesus loves everyone!!!!
We just did an outreach with our drama team on Sat. To anyone!! Sad to think we should keep it within our walls!! Freely His love was given to us…freely give it away!! God bless you for allowing us to see their humanity!! Great post. A little bit of how the other half live huh? Really interesting and a big reality check. I really hope that turns around for her. Wow what a fantastic read, and I bet it was such an eye opener. Full credit to you lovely x. Where should I start, Em? Any suggestions welcome.
I would try and get this published in something like Next, Cosmo etc, worth sending it — what have you got to lose???? What an amazing post! I appreciate when you write stuff like this. I think writing about these folks will help take some of the stigma away. I really appreciate this. This is what people really want from their magazines—risk, interest, a mental vacation. Do you write for a magazine? Not only do I want a subscription, but I want to work there too.
This is the kind of story that made me want to become a journalist. Cornell, thank you! It was meant to be my break through piece as a writer, rather than a mummy blogger. You have. I did a piece on masseuses from my hometown if Erie, Pa, that went unpublished. Good writers often get passed over in this twisted up culture ruled by misdirected corporate economy. I really think the blogosphere could be our saving grace.
On with the revolution, sir! Nicely written, Danielle. Three things to say off the top: I always think its sad when someone says they are madly in love with someone but they still describe themselves as lonely. So sad. I could have written something double the size in fact, I did! Thank god. Nice to read something completely out of the norm Danielle. I doubt anyone imagined that when they were picking work experience in high school.
Pleased you liked it! I LOVE this … and by that I mean going out of the norm to discover what life is like for others that live so differently.
Well done hun. Great insight and so well written xx. Thanks, babe! I plan on a whole human series.
